* Note: Open enrollment applications must be approved prior to registering for a school that is not your attendance boundary school. If you are registering for your attendance boundary school, you DO NOT need to fill out an Open Enrollment application.

Existing/Returning member Of The CUSD Family?
For current parents with a student attending a CUSD school and needing to add a new student/update their account.
For parents of a previously enrolled student in a CUSD school: Sign into the parent portal account, click on "more" on the left-hand side and then click "Annual Update and New Student Registration".

Open Enrollment Capacity
Open Enrollment enables Arizona students to attend public schools outside their attendance area. In accordance with state law, the District has established an open enrollment policy and implemented an open enrollment program without charging tuition for non-resident students and resident transfer students. Open Enrollment applications may be submitted online (elementary) or via email or in-person at our junior high and high schools.
Per district policy 5-105 and 5-105A and ARS 15-816, acceptance of a student's Open Enrollment will be based on site capacity, the students' prior discipline, grades and/or attendance. Please note that the district does not transport open enrollment students.
Open Enrollment capacity data is updated every 12 weeks per legislative requirements. Capacity may change prior to data being updated.
The next update will occur by October 23, 2026.

* Chandler Unified School District is committed to providing a full range of specialized programs and services to support students with disabilities. Families are welcome to apply for open enrollment at the school of their choice. However, if a student's IEP requires a specialized program that is only offered at a specific school, our team will help coordinate the appropriate placement. When applicable, the district will also provide transportation to ensure the student has access to their program.
